Miles Davis vs. Jazz - its subtitle has summed up the artistic freedom of the legendary trumpeter and conductor.Yet he is considered the greatest jazz player and the most influential musicians of the 20th century.
He created some of the many music genres and developments of his time. He is an artist.
And the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts has opened its North American retrospective of the exhibition dedicated to Davis. From the MMFA site of the exhibition, the show "will combine image and sound to offer visitors a sensory experience inspired by Miles Davis himself:
A painting is music you can see, and music is a painting you can hear. "
